Luggage rules
Attention: It is not allowed to carry a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on a flight from Groningen Airport. This applies to both: carry-on and checked baggage.
Hand luggage: What isn't allowed?
Sharp objects: You are not allowed to take along sharp or pointed objects in your hand luggage. If these are found during the security check, you will be asked to hand them over to the airport personnel. Any objects that have been handed in will not be returned, nor will you be reimbursed for them. You also have the option to place these items in your checked luggage or to give them to the person who took you to the airport. In any case, if these items are not removed from your hand luggage, you will not be allowed to board the flight.
Liquids: liquids, gels and aerosols are only allowed in hand luggage in small quantities (no more than 100 ml per item) and if correctly packaged. These rules apply to all passengers departing from or changing planes at EU airports. The new rules cover liquids such as water and other beverages, gels, pastes, lotions and the contents of aerosol cans. Toiletries such as toothpaste, shaving cream, hair gel, lip gloss and creams also fall under the rules.
Buggy, pram & children’s pushchairs
Naturally, you can bring your child’s buggy, pram or children’s pushchairs if you fly from Groningen Airport Eelde. These items must be reported at the check-in and you can then continue to use them until boarding time. Upon boarding, the buggy or pram needs to be folded and handed over at the airplane stairs, after which it is stored in a separate compartment of the cargo hold. Upon your return at Groningen Airport Eelde, buggies and prams are unloaded first and will be first on the luggage belt in the arrivals lounge. Children’s pushchairs can generally be carried into the passenger area of the airplane. If there is not enough space, they may have to go into the cargo hold. The airplane crew will have the final say on where the pushchairs will be carried.
Pets
If you are flying Transavia, you may take only dogs and cats along. Your dog or cat will be transported in a kennel in the cargo hold or in a living bag in the cabin. The transportation of a dog or a cat is always at the passenger’s risk. For more information, click here.
Luggage carts
Luggage carts for easy transport of your luggage are available in front of the terminal. Please return these trolleys after use to the front of the terminal. For passengers using long term parking, a separate location in the P4 parking area has been reserved for luggage carts.
Packed something by accident?
You may have inadvertently packed something you are not allowed to take on your flight. You may want to put this in your car or hand it over it to the person who took you to the airport.
